Before joining Shark Land, I felt stuck in the same loop for about 3-4 years. I was always making ideas, but I was never fully happy with the end result and most of the time I couldn't even finish tracks. It felt like I had creativity, but no real direction or system behind it.
I originally joined just to watch tutorials because Brad and the Take Notes team were already some of my favorite producers before I even found Shark Land. I had joined other groups before, so my biggest concern was whether the content would just be the same information you see everywhere else online. But the style and sound they were teaching was exactly what I was looking for, so I felt like it was the right move.
At that point, I knew I needed more than just random YouTube tutorials if I wanted to seriously improve. Their sound and approach really matched the direction I wanted to take my music in. It felt like the right time to finally invest in myself and take producing more seriously.
My objectives now are to finish tracks faster than ever before, keep improving my sound, and start getting records signed to labels I genuinely look up to. Overall, I just want to keep pushing my music career to the next level and build something real with it.
Honestly, my best moment has been getting 1-on-1 sessions and feedback from someone I looked up to even before joining. Having somebody you genuinely respect in your corner is a complete game changer because it cuts the learning curve in half. My skills are way better now and I can get ideas down in an hour instead of taking days or weeks, and I've developed a much better ear for understanding what sounds good and what doesn't.
I think music will always come with struggles because at the end of the day it's still creativity, and even the best producers deal with that. But now I don't struggle nearly as much with getting stuck or overthinking every little thing. The biggest difference is that I finally have a real system and workflow for building tracks, which makes the whole process feel way more natural and consistent.
